Living outside his will ( God reality TV)

I was listening to a message the other day and the pastor said,

“We create environments then find ways to survive those environments rather than end them”

I laughed thinking well I guess humanity is creating a reality show for God. It’s real, for us, but not really what God has planned for us, and much like a reality show, not really what should or needs to happen and often times we behave this way for the sake of entertainment…

My two favourite verses on the Plans and Will of God

Proverbs 3:5-6 trust the Lord with all your heart and all your mind and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight

Jeremiah 29:11 for I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

If we take it all back to the basics as a Christian you are left with simple thought, God created everything in the world, God created you. When God created the world he knew what he wanted to happen, he has every second of everyday down.

But God, being God, gave us the gift of free will. He gave humans the ability to choose what we do with our time. He doesn’t force his plan on us he allows us to choose him.

So what does that mean??

We take detours, some planned by God himself to prepare us, some just willful disobedience on our part, others tests on our faith and others traps by the devil.

See the comfort we have is God plans always prevail. So we have our plans, the devil has his but when it’s all said and done, the promise God made to you will come to pass, God is not a man that he shall lie or change his mind.

I imagine that much like watching an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, God watches over us, he knows what you are about to do before you do it, yet keeps watching and even when you mess up he doesn’t take his eyes of you…

Who knows maybe he’s cheering you on and jumping of his big comfy couch when you walk through that door to success, make the right choice

and maybe he’s screaming at the screen when you make that wrong turn, get into that wrong relationship knowing all the red flags

But the most comforting of all, when you trip and fall, when you sitting in your couch crying, when you are broken, he look at you with compassion.

But unlike when you watch TV, God is also trying to speak to you in all that, he’s saying to us, keep an eye on me. I have the script, read from me, hear from me, do what I tell you, follow my precepts because the plans I have for you are to give you joy and a future….and you can hear him.

And if you keep your eyes on me you can be sure you have done the will of God and you will receive the promise he has for you.
